GREEN LINE:
GREEN LINE is a limited-tech presentation in a beautiful, spacious setting with substantial artistic lineage. Artistic Directors and curators Barbie Diewald and Emily Jeffries seek choreographers working with ensembles to present up to 20 minutes of work. The program draws from TrioDance Collective's mission to champion the individual artist within the support of a group. The gathering of a variety of like-minded dance artists provides us with a platform to establish an open dialogue among artists, and work generously within our shared discipline.
Ensemble works are important to TrioDance Collective because they imply a built-in sense of community and a way of working that considers the priorities of multiple artists. TrioDance understands the distinct challenges that come along with building and maintaining ensembles, and seeks to foster solidarity with other groups that do the same.
Artists are selected on the basis of artistic merit, and should demonstrate a history of dance making outside the undergraduate level. Preference is given to artists who have presented at least 60 minutes of combined repertory in the New York City area.
The next call for choreographers will be in spring of 2014.
A word about GREEN LINE from Theodora Buguszewski, one of our 2012 Artists:
“I just wanted to thank you for having me! I'm so impressed by anyone who brings the arts community together, and your ability to do it so effectively never ceases to amaze me. What an impressive show and a great crowd!! I'm honored to have had the opportunity to show work among so many incredible choreographers in such a beautiful space. From time to time I find myself starting to lose faith in the dance community, and seeing so many talented dancers and ( more impressively) such a large and supportive audience really restores it. “

Open Dialogue:
Open Dialogue is an invitation to become involved in our usually closed rehearsal processes. As we craft our choreography and sharpen our intention, feedback is welcomed from an open audience of peers, non-dancers, seasoned professionals, family, and more. The exchange of art and thought in a communal setting is invaluable to TrioDance Collective. Open Dialogue is held in conjunction with each new process. The program ranges from two and four performances annually.
Our next Open Dialogue will be announced soon!
